Coby Mayo Goes Deep For Triple-A Norfolk
3 months agoBaltimore Orioles third base prospect Coby Mayo hit another home run for Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday. It was the 25th minor-league homer of the season for Mayo and the 22nd with Norfolk. Major League Baseball's No. 10 overall prospect had a 1-for-17 stint in the majors with Baltimore but has returned to Triple-A and has shown off his power stroke again. In the minors this season, the 22-year-old is hitting .302/.378/.610 with 25 homers and 73 RBI. With rosters set to expand in September, Mayo is likely to get another chance to prove himself with the Orioles. Like Jackson Holliday, his second go-around could be more of a success after regaining some confidence in the minors.
