DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (8/30/24)

Brent Venables - College Football DFS Picks, CFB Head Coach

The greatest weekend of college football is upon us. Every year, the college boys take over Labor Day weekend. We have games galore from Thursday until Monday with no NFL to get in the way. Friday is a little lighter with only four games on the schedule, but the quality is better than Thursday. That's something.

We only have eight teams and two of them are Owls. The FAU variety is in East Lansing and the Temple ones are in Norman. Western Michigan gets to Jump Around at Camp Randall. We end this in Stanford with TCU in town for a conference game. Weird, huh?

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/30/24, locking at 7 p.m. Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Jackson Arnold, Oklahoma ($9.1K)

Arnold had a strong bowl game, but Arizona's defense was good enough to make him pay for every one of his mistakes. Temple won't be able to do that. I would think Arnold will still play at least three-quarters of this game as the Sooners want to give him game experience.

Cam Fancher, Florida Atlantic ($6K)

When we last saw Fancher, he was carving up Arkansas State in Marshall's final regular-season game. Fancher fled Huntington since legacy Cole Pennington was going to be anointed as the starter. He lands in a pretty good spot.

Michigan State's defense wasn't very good last year and Fancher is a dual-threat that can pile up points on the ground as well. He's too cheap for the kind of ceiling that he has.

Also consider: Josh Hoover, TCU ($8.5K); Aidan Chiles, Michigan State ($7.7K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Chez Mellusi, Wisconsin ($6.9K)

Mellusi looked good splitting time with Braelon Allen before he was hurt in Week 4. He should be the alpha back this year. Oklahoma transfer Tawee Walker will take some carries, but I still feel like Mellusi reestablishes his dominance in the RB room. He should have a good game here.

Sedrick Irvin, Stanford ($5.3K)

It sounds like Stanford isn't sold on Ashton Daniels after camp, so I'll go with the most experienced back on the roster. Keep in mind that's not saying much. Irvin was a solid runner when he played last year behind a line that almost got E.J. Smith (among others) killed last year.

The line may not be much better, but this TCU defense isn't much of a strength. It allowed 154.67 yards per game last year and nearly two touchdowns per game on the ground.

Also consider: Gavin Sawchuk, Oklahoma ($6.6K); Jovantae Barnes, Oklahoma ($5.1K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Elic Ayomanor, Stanford ($6.5K)

Does this name sound familiar? It should.

Ayomanor had one of the best games by any receiver at any level last year against Colorado. TCU isn't Colorado, but he should still have a strong game here. Ayomanor is a reliable target no matter who starts at QB for Stanford.

Montorie Foster Jr., Michigan State ($5.9K)

Foster became the lead receiver for Sparty down the stretch last year, but it didn't matter because the quarterback play was so bad. Chiles is a better runner than a passer, but reports out of fall camp have been promising regarding his passing. Foster is cheap enough in a game that might stay close to pay off this price with ease.

JP Richardson, TCU ($5.6K)

Sharps are going heavier on Stanford here, which makes me nervous. TCU isn't proven in most places on the offense, but we know that we can trust Richardson. He carried a big load at Oklahoma State before taking a step back with the Toadies last year. Savion Williams is the burner. Richardson gives a nice floor with PPR on DraftKings.

Also consider: Deion Burks, Oklahoma ($6.9K); Savion Williams, TCU ($6.1K); Will Pauling, Wisconsin ($5.2K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

Oklahoma

The spread is 42 points on this, so most pieces of the Oklahoma starting offense will have solid games before hitting the showers. Arnold, Sawchuk, and Purdue transfer Deion Burks are all safe, but Tennessee-Martin transfer Sam Franklin could get a lot of carries down the stretch, making him a sneaky GPP play.

Wisconsin

We've seen this trailer before. Wisconsin's offense is different this time. We swear! I'll believe it when I see it. Tyler Van Dyke was very good at Miami until he wasn't. Mellusi and Walker could both get enough carries to be worth our while Both Pauling and Bryson Green could be in for a big game if Van Dyke delivers on his upside.

Also consider: Michigan State, TCU
