Patrick Bailey is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. This appears to be a routine rest day for Bailey after he started in three of the last four games.
Curt Casali will do the catching and bat ninth versus left-hander
Eduardo Rodriguez on Monday. The veteran catcher is hitting under .200 on the season and can be avoided for fantasy purposes. The assumption is that Bailey will be back in the lineup following Monday's contest.

Patrick Bailey (oblique) will resume baseball activities this weekend, according to the team. Barring a setback, Bailey will likely be back from the 10-day injured list before the end of August, which is why free-agent catcher
Elias Diaz turned down the Giants as a possible destination. The Giants aren't guaranteeing a roster spot with Bailey expected to return sooner than later. Bailey is eligible to return from the IL on Aug. 29. The 25-year-old switch-hitting backstop was hitting a dreadful .057 (3-for-53) with a double, two RBI and 13 strikeouts in 15 games in the month of July before landing on the shelf. With better health, hopefully Bailey will be able to pick things up offensively in the final month of the season. Veteran

However, Bailey is likely to sit out on Tuesday as well. Veteran
Curt Casali replaced Bailey on Monday, although the Giants could call up
Jakson Reetz from Triple-A Sacramento if they want more catching depth on Tuesday. Bailey has been mired in a terrible slump in recent weeks, going just 5-for-66 (.076) in 18 games since July 28, so perhaps it will be good for him to take at least a couple days off. He said he felt his side tighten up after coming out to take early swings on Monday. The 25-year-old switch-hitting backstop is hitting .233 (76-for-326) overall this year with seven homers and 38 RBI.
