Tyler Reddick Likely To Play It Safe To Protect Points Lead
3 months agoTyler Reddick took his first-ever lead in the NASCAR Cup Series championship with his win at Michigan. This season has marked a sudden change in style for Reddick as in 2022 and 2023 he had a more hotheaded aggressive style with more electrifying performances than this year but also more bad results. He is clearly focused on trying to win the regular season championship and considering how well he consistently runs at Darlington, he is likely the favorite if he can avoid crashing at Daytona. However, he has crashed out of six of his ten Daytona starts including this year's Daytona 500, his only DNF this year and despite winning his Duel race, he has only led 14 laps in points races. Since he has rarely battled for the lead there, he will probably be more focused on finishing to attempt to protect his points lead than trying to win.
