We have a sliced and diced main slate on both sites today with only seven games out of the 15 available to us. I'm okay with that since seven games is about the sweet spot anyway. Still, it's only half of the behemoth that we had last night.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Saturday, August 24, 2024, with the slate starting at 7:10 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Tarik Skubal at CWS ($10.9K DraftKings; $11.5K FanDuel)
Hey, wasn't it just last week that we went after the Sox? Give me some credit. This has been going on for months. The White Sox are the worst team we have seen this century and they are somehow worse against lefties.
Tigers have won 10 of their last 16 games using only 2 starters (Tarik Skubal, Keider Montero)
Detroit has given up…
3 or less runs in 13 of those 16 games.
2 or less runs in 8 of the 16.
1 or less run in 2 of the 16.
And they hurled 1 shutout.
That’s pretty incredible.

Yes, Detroit is finding ways to limit Skubal's workload, but it is giving him extra rest between starts. He should be good to lock down the Sox tonight. He racked up 27.7 DK points against them the first time around.
Clayton Kershaw vs. TB ($7.8K DraftKings; $9.2K FanDuel)
First off...Kershaw will go a maximum of six innings tonight, so don't expect a slate-breaking performance from him. The Rays have been marginally better against lefties lately, but they still aren't that good. Kershaw has only allowed two runs in 16 1/3 innings over his last three starts while striking out 13.
Kershaw isn't as great of an option as he used to be, but this is a superb matchup, so he might get his best score of the season. If he does, I'll be here for it.
David Peterson at SD ($7K DraftKings; $8.4K FanDuel)
Peterson hasn't given up more than four runs in any start this season, so he has a safe floor for a value play. That's about all we're looking for in a SP2 on DraftKings. He won't wow you with strikeouts, but Peterson doesn't get blown up and he's good at limiting damage. Before you know it, he has 18 points. I'll take that.
Also consider: Michael King vs. NYM; Pablo Lopez vs. STL; Jake Irvin at ATL

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Bobby Witt Jr. – SS, KC vs. Ranger Suarez ($6.7K DK; $4.4K FD)
Bobby Witt Jr. extends his hitting streak to 11 games. How beautiful is this piece of hitting😭😭 pic.twitter.com/um9vwqrNKx
— Braiden Turner (@bturner23) August 24, 2024
During that 11-game hit streak, Witt has five homers, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored, and a steal. Nine of his 16 hits in that span have gone for extra bases. Pay whatever they're asking for a hitter like that!
Luis Garcia Jr. – 2B, WAS vs. Charlie Morton ($5.1K DK; $2.8K FD)
Garcia's price on FanDuel is just dumb. He has seven hits over the last four games with a homer, a steal, two runs scored, and four RBI. Chris Sale went yesterday, so Garcia gets to tee off on the struggling Charlie Morton today. On DraftKings, I would chase more power (like Gavin Lux at a fraction of the cost) for the price, but Garcia is a lock on FD at this price.
Donovan Solano – 1B/3B, SD vs. David Peterson ($3K DK; $2.7K FD)
Solano has been in the majors for all or part of 14 seasons. He only has 38 career homers. Six of them have come this season.
Solano is hitting .394 over the last month with three homers, nine RBI, and five runs scored even though he has only started six games while playing in 14. That makes him a DFS nightmare, but if he's starting against the lefty tonight, run him out there.
Also consider: Shohei Ohtani, Gavin Lux, Paul DeJong
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
James Wood – OF, WAS vs. Charlie Morton ($5.3K DK; $3.5K FD)
Wood is hitting .378 over the last 10 games with a homer, a steal, four walks, three doubles, and seven runs scored. He's doing some of everything and Morton has been blown up twice in the last month. That might not happen here, but I like the Nats' chances.
Kerry Carpenter – OF, DET vs. Ky Bush ($3.9K DK; $3.1K FD)
This isn't so much going after Bush as it is going after that awful bullpen. Only Colorado has a worse bullpen ERA and Carpenter has homered six times in the last 13 games. That's half his season total!
Kevin Kiermaier – OF, LAD vs. Taj Bradley ($2.2K DK; $2.3K FD)
Taj has been struggling lately. Kiermaier is not. He has seven hits in the last seven games with a homer and five RBI. It's not bad for a guy priced in this range. We'll need the savings if we're paying up for Witt and at least one pitcher.
Also consider: Marcell Ozuna, Jackson Merrill, Jorge Soler
