Giancarlo Stanton Goes Yard In Victory
3 months agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-3 with a walk and three-run home run in Thursday's victory versus the Cleveland Guardians. Stanton's home run came against Nick Sandlin in the bottom of the fifth inning and was rocketed off the bat at 105 MPH. The home run gives the slugger three longballs over his last 34 at-bats, but he has just eight hits during that span. Stanton missed time earlier this season with a left hamstring strain, but has looked healthy since his return on July 29. The veteran is hitting .241 with 21 homers and 55 RBI for the season and as always, will provide power, but his low batting average and constant health concerns aren't for everyone. Stanton will look to go deep again on Friday when the Yankees open a three-game set at home versus the Colorado Rockies and Kyle Freeland.
