Is Jahmyr Gibbs Injured?
Gibbs was diagnosed with a soft tissue injury in June, and although he recovered from that ailment, he suffered a hamstring strain on August 12. It's worth noting that Gibbs also suffered a hamstring strain early in his rookie campaign last year, ultimately sidelining him for two weeks.
Shortly after Gibbs' latest diagnosis, head coach Dan Campbell told the media that he expected the running back to return to practice following the Lions' third preseason game on Saturday, August 24.

Will Jahmyr Gibbs Play In Week 1?
Returning to practice doesn't necessarily mean that a player will suit up for a game, but the fact that Gibbs will get back on the field two weeks before the season opener is a great sign.
Furthermore, Campbell said that Gibbs is trending toward playing in Week 1 versus the Los Angeles Rams. As of now, fantasy managers should expect to have Gibbs available for the opener, barring a setback.

Jahmyr Gibbs 2024 Fantasy Outlook
After Gibbs returned from his four-game absence last year, he emerged as one of the most productive and valuable players in fantasy football. The rookie stole plenty of touches from David Montgomery and cemented himself as the Lions' top running back.
From Weeks 7 through 16, Gibbs ranked as the overall RB3 in all formats — and he was the RB2 in terms of average points per game.
Gibbs finished his rookie campaign with 945 rushing yards, 316 receiving yards, and 11 total touchdowns. He was particularly effective in the passing game where he caught 52 of 71 targets and picked up 20 first downs on receptions. He earned Pro Bowl honors and finished fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.
As long as Gibbs can stay healthy for most or all of the 2024 season, he'll be a premier option in fantasy football. He's already achieved "start and forget" status, and nobody would be surprised if he pushes for the overall RB1 title. After all, he's already shown that he can produce over a full season despite playing in a crowded offense.

RB3 in full-time role Weeks 7-17.
Monty & Gibbs played 8 games together in that stretch.
Finished a Top 3 RB in 4/8.
1.069 fantasy points/touch in 2023.
Would’ve led all RBs in 2022.
350+ fantasy points ceiling.
A tier to himself.
