Top-5 Hitting Prospects To Stash For Week 22 Fantasy Baseball Redraft Leagues (2024)

Jasson Dominguez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Prospects, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

As the fantasy baseball season inches closer to the finish line, fantasy managers should continue to look for an edge, whether that is a player who can help provide a final playoff push in head-to-head leagues or help complete the race to the finish line in a roto league.

Stashing prospects is one way to identify such a player. A prospect can provide a few weeks to a month of statistical production down the stretch that can make a difference in determining league-winning teams, depending on when they are called up.

As we look for potential stash-worthy prospects, we've seen players like Shay Whitcomb, Jace Jung, Trey Sweeney, and others called up recently. As major league teams look for a similar edge, there are plenty of players in the minors who can get a big league shot soon. Here are five hitting prospects who stand out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and weekly lineup resources:

Jasson Dominguez - OF, New York Yankees

Dominguez was recently called up as the 27th man for the Yankees in the Little League Classic on Sunday against the Tigers, but he was immediately returned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He had a four-hit game shortly after returning to the RailRiders.

The 21-year-old switch hitter is hitting .300/.358/.427 in 28 games at Triple-A in what has been an abbreviated season due to injury. In 42 games between three levels this season, "The Martian" has seven homers, 25 RBI, and 10 stolen bases.

There is no doubt that Dominguez can fill up the stat sheet and is a future five-category contributor in fantasy leagues. The main question is when he will get a shot at regular at-bats in the Bronx. There is still time for Dominguez to make an impact, but the clock is ticking and the Yankees are seemingly reluctant to provide him that opportunity.

Coby Mayo - 3B/1B, Baltimore Orioles

Mayo returned to Triple-A Norfolk after a 1-for-17 stint in Baltimore. Much like teammate and fellow heralded prospect Jackson Holliday, Mayo's first stint in the majors did not go according to plan. But as Holliday has shown, a second chance could come with less internal and external pressure.

Mayo already clubbed his 21st Triple-A home run since returning to Norfolk, so that could help him restore some confidence. The 22-year-old masher has seemingly mastered Triple-A and just needs to start seeing a few things go his way in the majors to unlock his potential.

Baltimore could give him another stint in the majors when rosters expand in September. If he keeps crushing the ball in Triple-A in the meantime, he could return ready to make waves.

Deyvison De Los Santos - 3B/1B, Miami Marlins

De Los Santos has continued his tear in Minor League Baseball since coming over to Triple-A Jacksonville in a trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Miami Marlins organization at the trade deadline. His 35 homers between three teams this season leads all of Minor League Baseball.

The talented corner infield prospect eagerly awaits the call to Miami and should be able to translate his success this season to the majors when given that call. Overall this season, the 21-year-old is hitting .321/.374/.627 with 35 home runs and 103 RBI.

This could be a case of Miami manipulating his service team because it seems like De Los Santos is locked and loaded for a big league opportunity. He's deserving.

Dylan Crews - OF, Washington Nationals

As the calendar has turned to August, Crews has raised his play to another level. He is hitting .303/.368/.561 with four homers and 13 RBI in 16 games this month for Triple-A Rochester.

The LSU product and blue-chip prospect is starting to show why he is so highly thought of in prospect circles. The 22-year-old right-handed hitter has shown more pop at Triple-A than he did at Double-A, which is a good sign, but he is an advanced hitter for his age and that should carry over to the majors.

Crews can contribute in five categories immediately in Washington if the Nationals decide to give him a trial run ahead of a full season in the nation's capital in 2025.

Dalton Rushing - C/OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

Rushing has been playing a lot of outfield at Triple-A Oklahoma City, signifying that the Dodgers could be searching for ways to get his bat in the lineup with Will Smith locked in as the team's catcher.

Since his promotion to Triple-A, Rushing has been crushing to the tune of a .313/.443/.521 slash line with two homers and eight RBI. The talented catcher-eligible fantasy prospect looks like a savvy stash for fantasy managers.

If he gets the opportunity, he would join a good situation in the Dodgers lineup and could show off his sweet left-handed swing. He could be an impactful second catcher in two-catcher fantasy leagues who could play every day in the outfield in reality for L.A.
