Noble Meyer Notches Seven Strikeouts
3 months agoMiami Marlins pitching prospect Noble Meyer put together another strong outing for High-A Beloit on Wednesday. The right-hander tossed five innings of scoreless ball and allowed one hit with two walks and seven strikeouts on his way to a no-decision. His seven punchouts were a season-best for the 19-year-old, and he has now held opponents to a .164 batting average between Single-A Jupiter and Beloit. Meyer was the 10th overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft and comes in at No. 75 on MLB Pipeline. In his second professional season, Meyer has a 4.11 ERA to go along with a 1.29 WHIP and 74 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings. He still needs to work on better command, but if everything comes together, Meyer could be a front-line starter. For now, he is a name for dynasty managers to consider.
