When Should I Draft Keon Coleman? 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Keon Coleman- Fantasy Football Rankings, College FB, WR, NFL Draft Sleepers

As the 2024 fantasy football season approaches, savvy managers (such as yourself) are always on the lookout for breakout players who can provide significant value at a bargain draft price.

Keon Coleman, the dynamic wide receiver out of Florida State, is one such player who has generated considerable buzz in the fantasy community. With a rare combination of size, speed, and playmaking ability, Coleman has the potential to be a serviceable player for fantasy teams this year.

But the question remains: when should you draft him to maximize his value? In this article, I’ll break down Coleman's outlook for the 2024 season, analyze his fit within the Bills offense, and help you determine the ideal round to target him in your fantasy drafts.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for the 2025 playoffs:

Keon Coleman 2024 Fantasy Outlook

Drafted 33rd overall in this past NFL Draft to the Buffalo Bills, Coleman finds himself in arguably the best situation of any rookie receiver in 2024.

The Bills, led once again by superstar quarterback Josh Allen, lost 241 targets from the departure of their two top receivers last season, Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. On top of Coleman, the team brought in Curtis Samuel and Marquez Valdes-Scantling; however, none of them are true elite wide receivers set to demand a large share of targets. The WR1 spot on the Bills is up for grabs.

There have been many reports already that Coleman has been the standout receiver for the Bills so far in training camp, and he has done a tremendous job building chemistry with Allen already.

In his last year of college, Coleman led the Seminoles in receiving, finishing with 50 receptions, 658 yards, and scoring 11 touchdowns.

Coleman is just a rookie, so it is hard to predict how many targets he will see starting in Week 1, but there is reason to believe that by the middle of the season, he may emerge as the Bills’ top target and Allen's favorite weapon.

When Should I Draft Keon Coleman in Fantasy Football?

Coleman is predicted to finish as the WR45 and has an ADP of 99 in PPR leagues. Drafting him around that spot near the end of your draft seems like a very safe decision to make.

Coleman will have a significant role in the Bills offense in 2024. It is yet to be seen how large that role will be; however, his knack for scoring throughout his college career and his impressive training camp cannot be ignored. It also helps that he has one of the best quarterbacks in the league and there are plenty of targets up for grabs on his team.

Coleman may start the season as your flex option, but can very easily work his way up to your starting WR2 or WR3. Targeting Coleman in the mid-to-late rounds of your fantasy draft is a solid strategy, especially if you’ve already secured your core players. He offers the upside of a potential breakout while minimizing the risk associated with earlier-round picks.
