Blake Treinen Makes Rehab Appearance
4 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-handed reliever Blake Treinen (hip) made a minor-league rehab appearance with Double-A Tulsa on Saturday and tossed a scoreless inning, walking none, striking out the side and not allowing a hit. Treinen appears to be on track to come off the 15-day injured list on the first day he's eligible on Tuesday after the dominant rehab outing over the weekend. The 36-year-old veteran is recovering from left-hip discomfort but should be back in the big-league bullpen this week. It's looking like trade acquisition Michael Kopech is taking over the closing duties in LA, but Treinen will return to a high-leverage, late-inning setup role when he's activated off the IL. In 34 appearances out of the bullpen in 2024, Treinen has been solid, posting a 2.67 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, one save, 38 strikeouts and nine walks in 30 1/3 innings pitched.
