Expect Bubba Wallace To Be A Top Tournament Play At Michigan
4 months agoAfter qualifying for the FireKeepers Casino 400, which was canceled due to weather, Bubba Wallace will start fifth on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway. This will be the second time in his Cup career that Wallace will start inside the Top 5. In 10 races at Michigan, Wallace has two top-10 finishes, including his runner-up finish in the 2022 Cup event there. The No. 23 Toyota driver led over 20 laps in his last two appearances at MIS as well. After completing 23 races this year, Wallace has nine top-10 finishes, including four of the last five Cup events. Wallace also placed no worse than 13th in those races and racked up back-to-back top-5 finishes in the last two Cup events this year. In practice, Wallace ranked 14th in overall lap averages, eighth in five consecutive lap averages, and fifth in 10 consecutive lap averages. Regardless of his low Place Differential Upside, Wallace has been one of the hottest and most consistent drivers, no matter the track type, in recent weeks. With great equipment and Michigan being a great track for him, Wallace is worth rostering, especially in tournament lineups this week.
