Enoli Paredes To Start Rehab Assignment On Friday
4 months agoMilwaukee Brewers right-hander reliever Enoli Paredes (forearm) is set to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Friday. Paredes is finally ready to resume pitching in games after being sidelined since early July with tendinitis in his right forearm. The 28-year-old opened the year as one of the candidates to earn saves in Milwaukee with regular closer Devin Williams (back) out for the entire first half of the season. Paredes picked up his first career save and gave up only two earned runs in his 16 2/3 innings out of the bullpen, but he also walked eight batters and was eventually sent down. Because he's on the 60-day injured list, he isn't eligible to return until early September. And now that Williams is back and Trevor Megill (back) is on the cusp of a return as well, Paredes isn't going to be much of an option for saves down the stretch.
