8 months agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Payne Durham (knee) suffered a knee injury during the Buccaneers' joint practice with the Jaguars on Wednesday. According to Buccaneers insider JC Allen, Durham's MRI results were negative, and he is not expected to miss much time. Durham was a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft and appeared in 13 games during his rookie season, recording five catches for 58 yards. He played in Tampa Bay's preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 10, where he had two receptions for 27 yards. The Buccaneers won the game 17-14. If Durham cannot participate in the next preseason game, Ko Kieft and Devin Culp will have the opportunity for more reps to compete for the third tight end spot on the 53-man roster behind Cade Otton and Durham. UPDATE: Head coach Todd Bowles said Durham is day-to-day.--Martin Grisko - RotoBaller

3 months agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Payne Durham saw increased playing time for the third straight week with Cade Otton (knee) inactive during the regular season finale. Durham hauled in both his targets for 16 yards and a touchdown during the victory. This marked the second straight game that Durham has been able to find the end zone. The hope is that Otton will be able to return to the field for next week's playoff game. Otherwise, Durham and Devin Culp will remain the primary options at tight end. Durham might be worth a dart throw in DFS contests for the Wild-Card round.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 months agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Payne Durham (quad) is good to go ahead of Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Durham has been asked to start in each of the last two games with Cade Otton (knee) sidelined. That is likely going to be the case once again this weekend, so Durham figures to get one more start. Durham has done a nice job with seven receptions for 65 yards and one touchdown over the last two games. He'll have some deep league appeal for this weekend and might be worth a dart throw in DFS contests for Week 18.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 months agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Payne Durham (quad) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. This is good news after Durham sat out to open the week due to a quad issue. Durham has seen a bigger role on offense lately with Cade Otton (knee) missing the last two games. Otton was able to get back on the practice field on Thursday as well. The return of Otton would basically end the streaming value that Durham has created for himself. Possibly, Durham has played well enough to remain involved, but he'll fall further on the pecking order if Otton returns for this weekend's matchup against the New Orleans Saints.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 months agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight ends Cade Otton (knee) and Payne Durham (quadriceps) both missed practice on Wednesday. Otton has missed the last two games due to a left-knee injury and is fully in danger of missing a third straight game in the Week 18 regular-season contest versus the division-rival New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Now that Durham is also on the injury report, the Bucs' TE room could be down to Devin Culp (ribs) this weekend. In a game that the Bucs need to win in order to clinch the NFC South and a playoff berth, their TE situation is worth monitoring for fantasy purposes. The 25-year-old Otton is the team's unquestioned top TE when he's healthy, but Culp could be an attractive low-cost DFS option if both Otton and Durham are ruled out. In the Week 17 win over the division-rival Carolina Panthers, Culp contributed for the first time all year, catching three of four targets for 52 yards.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
