Ketel Marte Diagnosed With Low-Grade Ankle Sprain
3 months agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte (ankle) has been diagnosed with a low-grade ankle sprain and is considered day-to-day, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Marte will avoid the injured list but will most likely sit out a second straight game on Wednesday in the series finale against the visiting Colorado Rockies at Chase Field. The 30-year-old All-Star initially injured his ankle on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies and sat out on Sunday in the series finale before aggravating it in the series opener against Colorado on Monday. Marte didn't play on Tuesday and will probably be held out again on Wednesday. With an off day coming on Thursday, fantasy managers will be hoping he can return for the weekend series in Tampa against the Rays, which begins on Friday. The Dominican infielder has been a must-start in all fantasy leagues with 30 homers, 81 RBI, six steals and 81 runs scored in 433 at-bats in 2024.
