Drafting David Montgomery in fantasy football can be smart, especially if you're looking for a dependable running back with a solid floor.
In his second season with the Detroit Lions, Montgomery is expected to take on a significant role in the offense, particularly in short-yardage and goal-line situations. The Lions' offensive line is one of the best in the league, which helped Montgomery reach 13 touchdowns in 2023.
Montgomery is a good value pick in the middle rounds, particularly if you're looking for a running back who can provide steady production with touchdown upside. However, remember that Jahmyr Gibbs' presence may somewhat cap his ceiling.

Rachaad White Fantasy Football Outlook
Drafting Rachaad White in fantasy football is a high-risk, high-reward option this year, especially if you're looking for a running back who could break out this season.
As the expected lead back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, White has a clear path to significant touches both as a runner and receiver. He showed flashes of potential in his rookie season, particularly in the passing game.
White finished with 990 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns but struggled on the ground as he averaged just 3.6 yards per rush. The poor offensive line doesn't help White's case, but there is no denying he will be the workhorse back this season in Tampa Bay.

Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
When deciding between Travis Etienne Jr., David Montgomery, and Rachaad White this year in fantasy football, all signs point toward Etienne being the best selection. Even though he has the highest ADP, Etienne's ability to run and catch while being a true three-down workhorse gives him the highest upside.
Montgomery will be a solid mid-round selection, but White is a running back fantasy managers should steer clear of due to his poor production and struggling offensive line.
