Jermaine Burton Delivers Big Touchdown Catch
8 months agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton converted four targets into three catches for 82 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Burton has generated plenty of hype during his first training camp, so it was a bit of a surprise that he didn't enter the game until the third quarter and wasn't targeted until the fourth. Nevertheless, he made the most of his time on the field, leading the Bengals in receiving yards and also hauling in a 37-yard touchdown pass. A third-round pick out of Alabama, Burton continues to compete for the No. 3 receiver role with Trenton Irwin and Andre Iosivas. He's an appealing dynasty option, but it's a bit premature to pursue him in most redraft leagues.

Jermaine Burton Will Not Travel With Team
3 months agoAccording to Ben Baby of ESPN, Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Jermaine Burton will not travel to Pittsburgh with the team due to a coach's decision. The rookie has had struggles finding playing time during his rookie campaign and will now not even be with the team during their must-win game on Saturday evening. This is a telling sign and could suggest the he is beginning to fall out of favor with the coaching staff. He has not logged at least ten offensive snaps in each of his past five games. Throughout the season, Burton has only caught four of his 14 targets for 107 yards. Fantasy managers should expect Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins (ankle) and Andrei Iosivas to lead the passing attack once again in the regular season finale.

No Place In Fantasy Lineups For Jermaine Burton In Week 13
4 months agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton looked good during the preseason. However, he hasn't done much to benefit fantasy managers during the 2024-25 campaign. The rookie has just one catch in each of his previous three contests leading up to the Bengals' Week 12 bye. Yet, he's starting to earn the trust of Joe Burrow, considering he has 12 targets during that span. Granted, Burton has a long way to go before earning a place in fantasy lineups. But it appears he's moving in the right direction, although fantasy managers should still keep him on the bench for Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jermaine Burton Not Worthy Of A Lineup Spot In Week 11
4 months agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton looked good during the preseason, finding the end zone twice. As a result, expectations were high for the 2024 No. 80 overall pick heading into the regular season, even with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in the equation. However, he hasn't done much, amassing only three catches (10 targets) for 99 yards. Burton has also been held out of a few contests, one of which was for disciplinary reasons. With that in mind, the 23-year-old may have a bright future, so keeping him stashed on dynasty rosters is recommended. Yet, his fantasy outlook for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign doesn't look promising, including in Week 11 versus the Chargers, especially with Chase, Higgins, Andrei Iosivas, Chase Brown, and Mike Gesicki all looking for Joe Burrow's attention.

Bengals Counting On Jermaine Burton On Thursday Night
5 months agoCincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Jermaine Burton was inactive in the Week 9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders after missing some meetings. However, Burton was much-improved this week, and the Bengals are expecting him to be a factor for Thursday night's divisional clash against the Baltimore Ravens with Tee Higgins (quadriceps) missing his third straight game. Charlie Jones (groin) is also out for the Bengals, so the 23-year-old Burton is likely to work as the No. 3 wideout in Week 10 behind Ja'Marr Chase and Andrei Iosivas. Burton, a third-rounder in April of this year, has real skills as a deep threat but has plenty of maturing to do off the field. Tight end Mike Gesicki will remain heavily involved as a pass-catcher, too, so Burton is more of a DFS long shot on Thursday night. He has only two catches for 88 yards in his first seven NFL games.
