Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown signed a one-year deal with the team in free agency this past offseason. The veteran wide receiver had spent the past two years with the Arizona Cardinals.
Brown was once considered an up-and-coming wide receiver in the NFL. However, injuries and inconsistent play have impacted his value to teams and fantasy football players. After totaling a career-high 1,008 receiving yards in 2021, Brown has had 1,283 yards over the past two years.
Unfortunately, the veteran wide receiver has dealt with multiple injuries in his career, including one he suffered earlier tonight in the preseason matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Is Marquise Brown Injured Or Healthy?
The Chiefs lost 26-13 to the Jaguars in their first preseason game of the year. However, the bigger concern is Brown’s health. The veteran receiver suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation on his only reception in the game.
Head coach Andy Reid said Brown is currently in the hospital because of the injury. He compared the injury to Tyreek Hill's shoulder injury from 2019, which caused him to miss four games. Brown’s availability for the start of the regular season is in question.

The Fantasy Football Impact From Marquise Brown’s Injury
Fantasy players will want to move Rashee Rice up in their draft rankings following the Brown injury. The second-year player has had an impressive training camp after an excellent rookie season. However, Brown’s current timeline means he could play on opening night against the Baltimore Ravens. At worst, the veteran receiver might miss a week or two.

While Rice could get a slight bump to start the season, fantasy players shouldn’t overreact to the injury unless there is a more severe update later tonight or tomorrow. Instead, fantasy players should buy the dip on Brown, as the veteran receiver’s ADP will likely nosedive over the next week or so.
Rice should be the first Kansas City wide receiver drafted this year, followed by Brown, with Xavier Worthy being the third selected. Unless Brown is going to miss significant time with this injury, I will not change that order in my rankings.
