Aidan O’Connell Keeps Raiders’ QB Competition Close
3 months agoOn Saturday, 25-year-old Raiders Quarterback, Aidan O'Connell, picked up right where he left off in 2023. Starting the game for Las Vegas, O'Connell led a 15-play, 83-yard drive that ate up 7:42 of the first quarter. While O'Connell was effective, going 7-for-9 with 76 yards, no touchdowns and a 101.9 passer rating, all the Raiders could muster was a field goal after he took a third-and-goal sack which pushed Las Vegas back to the 13-yard line. On the drive, O'Connell showed great chemistry with receivers Jakobi Meyers (three catches on three targets for 45 yards) and rookie tight end Brock Bowers (two catches on two targets for 25 yards). However, with Gardner Minshew II throwing for 117 yards and a score in the second quarter, O'Connell has some catching up to do next week against the Cowboys.
