8 months agoMinnesota Vikings second-year receiver Jalen Nailor pulled in three receptions for 63 yards on four targets in the opening two drives against the Las Vegas Raiders. The loss of K.J. Osborn in the offseason left the Vikings looking towards an open competition for the third receiver on their depth chart, a critical position as Osborn has played in 75+% of snaps each of the last two seasons with the team. He was given the opportunity in two receiver sets today with Justin Jefferson resting. The 25-year-old rewarded the team with long receptions on the first passes from both quarterbacks he played with, Sam Darnold and J.J. McCarthy, and a clutch 26-yard reception on 3rd-and-10 on the first drive. Nailor likely locked down that position as the team’s third receiver on the Vikings depth chart with his performance tonight.--Bruce Clark - RotoBaller

3 months agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor brought in 3-of-4 targets for 53 yards in Sunday night's 31-9 road loss to the Detroit Lions. Nailor was the team's second-leading receiver in Week 18 -- falling one yard shy of tying Justin Jefferson for the most on the squad. The Lions' defense was disruptive in this one, keeping Sam Darnold off balance and out of rhythm for the majority of the contest. As such, most of the Vikings offense was held to little or no production as Detroit relentlessly broke up passes and held the team to short gains. The 25-year-old will get another exploitable matchup next weekend in the Wild Card round -- squaring off with the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi stadium. However, he'll be little more than a DFS dart throw for the road tilt.--Alex Ciulla

3 months agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor gets an exploitable spot in his team's meeting with the division-rival Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. The Michigan State product put together his best performance of the season in last weekend's 27-25 win over the Green Bay Packers – racking up 81 yards and a touchdown on 5-of-5 receiving. It was a nice slump-breaking outing for the 25-year-old, as he recorded only eight receptions and 67 yards from Weeks 8-16. He'll get a chance to build on that production this weekend in a matchup that features a whopping 57-point over/under. Detroit has been a sieve on the back end this season, and quarterback Sam Darnold is elevating the entire offense with his exceptional play. Fantasy managers looking for a high-upside dart throw in Week 18 can do worse than Nailor. He'll land at RotoBaller's PPR WR47 ahead of this weekend's action.--Alex Ciulla

3 months agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor hauled in all five of his targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-25 win against the Green Bay Packers. The 25-year-old hadn't sniffed this sort of volume since way back in Week 7, but he was effective -- putting together his best outing of the season. The TD was Nailor's sixth, his first since Week 12. More so, the yardage and reception total were both season highs. With the Vikings' ground attack proving ineffective (2.7 YPC), QB Sam Darnold attempted his most passes of the season (43) en route to a career-high in passing (377). While it isn't a prescriptive performance, it's a reminder that the Michigan State product can at least work as, at worst, a tertiary option in this offense. It's possible he'll be involved again next weekend when Minnesota hosts their division-rival Detroit Lions in what presents as an exciting end-of-season tilt.--Alex Ciulla

3 months agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor hasn't been much of a factor on offense this season. Nailor hauled in his lone target for five yards during last week's win over the Chicago Bears. The 25-year-old has finished with one reception or less in seven straight games. At this point, Nailor is the fourth option in the passing game, which isn't going to result in much fantasy value. He is only playing around 50 percent of the offensive snaps, so fantasy managers should be able to find a more reliable option for Week 16.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
