Colt Emerson Tallies First High-A Hit
3 months agoSeattle Mariners shortstop prospect Colt Emerson went 1-for-4 with a single and walk to earn his first base hit at High-A on Thursday evening. Emerson made his High-A debut the night before but went 0-for-4 with a walk. Emerson spent the first half of the summer getting his second look at Single-A pitching and performed very well, boasting a .294/.440/.427 line with 44 total hits, 25 RBI, and a 35:27 BB:K ratio. The 19-year-old was selected with the 22nd overall pick in last year's draft out of John Glenn HS. Currently considered the third-best prospect in Seattle and 41st overall in the entire sport, Emerson is a name to keep a close eye on as he continues to develop in the lower levels of the minor leagues.
