Brandon Sproat Struggles In Triple-A Debut
3 months agoNew York Mets starting pitching prospect Brandon Sproat made his Triple-A debut on Thursday evening. Unfortunately, the former second-round selection struggled as he served seven hits, six earned runs, and three free passes across four 2/3 innings. He struck out four. Sproat has progressed through the minor leagues very quickly this season as he made his professional debut at High-A and now sits at the top level of the minor leagues. Across 87 2/3 innings split across High and Double-A, the former Florida Gator posted a 2.05 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and a 31:110 BB:K ratio. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Sproat's progression at Triple-A very closely, as he may only need a handful of strong outings to prove he is ready for the big leagues.
