Dylan Cease's Next Start To Come On Sunday
4 months agoThe San Diego Padres have announced their starting rotation for the three-game series that starts on Friday in Miami against the Marlins, and right-hander Dylan Cease will get the ball in the series finale on Sunday. Left-hander Martin Perez will go in the series opener on Friday, while right-hander Matt Waldron will start on Saturday. Cease threw a scoreless inning in his last outing on Tuesday against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates before a lengthy rain delay ended his outing prematurely. The 28-year-old will be plenty rested this weekend for an excellent fantasy matchup against the Fish, where he'll be a must-start in all lineups. Cease threw San Diego's second-ever no-hitter on July 25 against the Nationals and has given up just one earned run in his last 28 2/3 innings in the second half of the season. In his first year in San Diego, he's emerged as a National League Cy Young candidate.
