Fix The Ratings! The Most Underrated Players In 'Madden 25'

It's Madden season once again! Which players were underrated by EA in the rating reveal? Aidin Ebrahimi lists seven players who should be rated higher in 2024's "Madden 25."

It's Madden season once again, and we all know the series hasn't been the same for over a decade. The lack of creativity has been apparent for years, as EA didn't even bother to change this year's title to avoid confusion with 2013's "Madden 25." But the success of "College Football 25," one of the best EA Sports football games ever, might mean good things for the Madden franchise.

Of course, Madden ratings are said to be an even bigger part of the game this year, with EA claiming that player ratings will determine the outcome of animations during tackles and other collisions more than ever. There's always a fair amount of hype when seeing how your favorite players were ranked, regardless of how bad the game is.

Without further ado, let's look at the seven most underrated players in "Madden 25" (2024). This list is entirely subjective and is in no particular order. These are the ratings at launch.

Raheem Mostert, Miami Dolphins (86 Overall)

Raheem Mostert used to be a 60 overall in "Madden 18," but he slowly impressed with the 49ers and earned an 86 overall rating in "Madden 22." However, a knee injury ended his season and Mostert's NFL future was put in serious jeopardy. He managed to bounce back from this setback and led the NFL in touchdowns last year, and is now back to an 86 overall.

However, he's still ranked below players such as Kenneth Walker III (88 overall), Aaron Jones (88), and Travis Etienne (90) despite having better seasons than all of them. He also has the same rating as Tony Pollard, who disappointed in his only season as the Cowboys' RB1. An 89 or 90 rating would be more fitting for the man who scored 21 total touchdowns last season.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers (77 Overall)

Christian Watson has struggled with injuries so far in his career, but he has still accomplished more than his 77 overall rating. Despite appearing in just nine games, Watson recorded 422 yards last year, which is more than Allen Robinson II, Kadarius Toney, Marvin Mims Jr., Darnell Mooney, Jauan Jennings, and JuJu Smith-Schuster, who are all 77 overall.

Despite having better stats, he is also rated lower than Rondale Moore and Nelson Agholor (both 78 overall). He can be one of the league's best wideouts when healthy and should be a 79 overall in "Madden 25."

Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys (79 Overall)

Jake Ferguson was given a 71 overall rating in "Madden 24" after a fairly quiet rookie campaign, but he turned things around last year. He finished the year with 761 yards, the eighth-most yards by a TE in 2023. He also scored five touchdowns in the regular season and three in the Cowboys' only playoff game.

Despite having the eighth-most yards among TEs, he is ranked as the TE18 in "Madden 25," and many players who had disappointing or injury-riddled seasons are ranked ahead of him. He should have the same rating as Trey McBride (82 overall), as they both had similar years.

Nick Bolton, Kansas City Chiefs (84 Overall)

After two great seasons to start his career and a crucial touchdown in Super Bowl 57, Nick Bolton was given an 87 overall rating in "Madden 24." He suffered through injuries in the 2023 season, which caused his arm to be put in a cast. But he returned in the playoffs and continued to showcase himself as one of the best linebackers in football.

He warned the Chiefs' special teams unit before Damar Hamlin's fake punt in the Divisional Round and had a great Super Bowl performance en route to a second consecutive championship. His downgrade to 84 happened during "Madden 24" when he was injured, but the fact that he didn't get upgraded back to an 87 overall in "Madden 25" is criminal.

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals (77 Overall)

When the "Madden 25" ratings were revealed, I had to do a double take when I saw Kyler Murray's rating. Just a 77 overall, which is less than Geno Smith (78 overall). Murray's style of play is ideal for a game like Madden, but his awareness rating (66) ruins his overall.

That awareness rating is lower than Desmond Ridder (70), Jameis Winston (67), and Daniel Jones (67). You can call Kyler whatever you want, but you can't argue that he's less "aware" on the field than those guys. He was an 84 overall the last time he was fully healthy, and an 82 overall would be fair in "Madden 25."

Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams (84 Overall)

Kyren Williams was just a measly 65 overall when "Madden 24" launched, but he went off last year and was one of the best running backs on the planet. He recorded 1,350 scrimmage yards and scored 15 total touchdowns despite playing in just 12 games. He would have finished the year with over 1,900 total yards and 21 touchdowns had he stayed healthy.

Despite his incredible season, he's ranked lower than Alvin Kamara and D'Andre Swift (both 85 overall), and Williams was better than them last year. He should have gotten a +21 upgrade instead of the +19 he got and should have started the year as an 86 overall.

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (82 Overall)

This is the worst and most disrespectful rating in this year's Madden game. It's almost like EA hired NFL players—who ranked Goff as the QB12 in the NFL Top 100 list—to give Goff his rating. We're talking about a guy who threw for 4,575 yards and 30 touchdowns with a 97.9 passer rating last year. He led his team to 12 wins and almost reached the Super Bowl.

He is worse in the game than Matthew Stafford (83 overall), Aaron Rodgers (83), Kirk Cousins (84), and Justin Herbert (87). Yes, his way of marching down the field isn't as exciting as someone like Stafford, but guess who managed to beat Stafford in the playoffs last year? That's right, Jared Goff. He should be an 87 overall for his accomplishments with this Lions roster.
