Mookie Betts Expected To Return At Shortstop, Bat Second In Lineup
4 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he sees infielder Mookie Betts (hand) playing shortstop when he returns from his hand/wrist injury, which could take place as early as next Monday. Betts will also hit second in the batting order (with Shohei Ohtani sticking in the leadoff spot) to break up left-handed hitters at the top of the order in Ohtani and first baseman Freddie Freeman. The Dodgers were initially saying that the 31-year-old would be moved to second base, with veteran Miguel Rojas (forearm) staying at the 6, but appears that plans have changed for now. Regardless of where Betts is playing on the diamond, he's a must-start in all fantasy formats when he returns to the Blue, and the drop one spot down in the batting order isn't going to have long-reaching fantasy effects.
