While Justin Jefferson was the clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver on fantasy football draft boards last year, there is a debate about who should be the first pass catcher drafted in 2024.
Unfortunately, Jefferson isn’t in the conversation after the Minnesota Vikings lost Kirk Cousins in free agency. Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, or Ja'Marr Chase are the three wide receivers that fantasy players should consider taking as the first pass catcher off the board this season.
However, which one is the WR1 and 1.02 pick behind Christian McCaffrey? Let’s dive into the superstars’ 2024 fantasy football outlooks.

Tyreek Hill 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Hill was the WR2 in 2023, averaging 19.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He ended the year with 119 receptions on 171 targets for 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. While he fell short of totaling 2,000 yards, Hill led the NFL in receiving yards. More importantly, Hill should remain the focal point of the Miami Dolphins passing attack this year after recently signing a new contract with the team.

CeeDee Lamb 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Lamb was the WR1 last season, averaging 19.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Despite a slow start to the year, Lamb was outstanding in 2023. He had 135 receptions on 181 targets for 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, setting career highs in every category. The Dallas Cowboys have arguably the worst backfield in the NFL. Therefore, fantasy players should expect Lamb to have another massive season in 2024.

Ja'Marr Chase 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Chase was the WR13 last year, averaging 13.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The former LSU wideout had 100 receptions on 145 targets for 1,216 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. However, fantasy players should give him a pass because of Joe Burrow. The superstar quarterback was never healthy in 2023, dealing with multiple injuries. Chase averaged 16.6 fantasy points per game in 2022 and should put up similar numbers this upcoming season.

Who Should I Draft?
Fantasy players should be happy to have all three players as their WR1. However, Lamb is the clear-cup top wide receiver in my rankings and the 1.02 pick this year. The superstar was the top wide receiver following the Cowboys’ bye week last season. With a lack of other options and a poor rushing attack, expect Lamb to be the highest-targeted player in the NFL in 2024.
