Tanner Bibee Playing Catch, Expected Back Soon
4 months agoCleveland Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee (shoulder) has resumed playing catch, and manager Stephen Vogt anticipates him being ready to return to the starting rotation soon. The Guardians have held Bibee back since he felt tightness in his right shoulder in his last start last Monday against the Detroit Tigers. Barring a setback with the 25-year-old's throwing program this week, he could return to the rotation for Cleveland this weekend during a series against the division-rival Minnesota Twins. Bibee will be a little bit more risky if he gets the nod this weekend against the Twins because of his shoulder injury, but the former fifth-rounder in 2021 out of Fullerton has been a rotation staple for Cleveland in just his second year in the big leagues. He's currently 9-4 with a 3.48 ERA (3.38 FIP), a 1.09 WHIP and a 132:31 K:BB in 22 innings covering 121 2/3 innings.
