Gabriel Moreno Suffers Strained Groin On Monday
4 months agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno (groin) was removed from Monday's contest early against the hosting Cleveland Guardians with a strained left groin. The good news for fantasy managers is that Moreno went 2-for-2 with a solo home run in the contest before leaving early. He was replaced behind the plate by Jose Herrera. Moreno will certainly undergo testing on his injured groin on Tuesday, but fantasy managers should expect a trip to the 10-day injured list at the very least. Herrera is currently the only other catcher on Arizona's big-league roster, so he's in line for a big jump in playing time if Moreno indeed goes on the IL. Losing Moreno for any amount of time will be bad news for a contending D-backs squad. Coming into Monday's affair, Moreno was slashing .256/.340/.370 with only four homers, 40 RBI and three steals in 85 games.
