Matt Shaw Records Four Hits For Double-A Tennessee
4 months agoChicago Cubs third base prospect Matt Shaw went 4-for-5 on Wednesday for Double-A Tennessee to wrap up a productive July. Shaw hit .373 with four homers and 13 RBI in July to raise his season totals to a .272 batting average with 14 homers, 48 RBI, and 23 stolen bases. The Cubs No. 2 prospect has had a good season as he continues to progress through the minors. The 22-year-old could be looking at a promotion to Triple-A by the end of this season if the Cubs want to be aggressive. He could then see a big-league debut sometime next year. He is an important name to file away for fantasy purposes.
