Kaiden Guhle Signs Six-Year Extension With Canadiens
4 months agoMontreal Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle signed a six-year extension on Wednesday. The deal, which is worth $33.3 million, will kick in from the 2025-26 NHL campaign. Guhle became the third blue-liner to ink a new contract with the Canadiens this week, joining Justin Barron and Arber Xhekaj. Guhle is the most productive of the three, having amassed 22 points (six goals, 16 assists) in 70 games last season with 178 blocks and 116 hits. The 22-year-old, who was a first-round pick in 2020, has tallied 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 114 career contests. Guhle plays an important role for Montreal as Mike Matheson's partner on the first defensive pairing, but his fantasy value is limited due to his lack of power-play time.
