Matt Fitzpatrick Out Of Form Heading To Paris
4 months agoFollowing an impressive T5 showing at the Memorial Tournament back in early June, Matt Fitzpatrick rattled off four-straight disappointing performances. The 29-year-old Brit has lost strokes ball-striking in all of those starts, while posting middling finishes of T64, T36, T39 and a T50 at The Open Championship two weeks ago. And while he appears to be motivated this week, mentioning in interviews that he would rank an Olympic gold medal just under a Major victory, he may have a tough time navigating the test awaiting at Le Golf National. While Fitzpatrick does rank eighth in driving accuracy and 12th in putting over the last 24 rounds, he sits outside of the top-20 in weighted approach play, greens-in-regulation percentage, birdie-or-better percentage, and bogey avoidance, all of which could spell disaster for the 15th-most expensive golfer on the DraftKings slate. Fantasy managers may want to hold off on rostering Fitzpatrick until they see a return to the elite form he is capable of displaying.
