Lions Lose Pass Rusher John Cominsky Indefinitely
4 months agoDetroit Lions defensive end John Cominsky (knee) tore his MCL in training camp on Tuesday. Cominsky is a rotational piece for the Lions, but he has recorded six sacks over the last two seasons in Detroit. The Lions struggled defensively in 2023 and had difficulty rushing the passer. They will enter 2024 with a strong starting defensive line of Aidan Hutchinson, Alim McNeill, DJ Reader (if healthy), and Marcus Davenport. If the Lions want to reach and ultimately win the Super Bowl, they will need their depth pieces to step up behind that core.
