Rhett Lowder Has Another Strong Outing At Double-A
4 months agoCincinnati Reds pitching prospect Rhett Lowder earned Southern League Player of the Week honors after securing his second Double-A win of the season for Chattanooga. The 22-year-old threw six innings of scoreless ball, allowing just one hit and no walks while striking out six. It was the second consecutive start in which the former first-rounder did not allow a run, and after a bumpy start to his Double-A career, the righty appears to be rounding into form. MLB.com's No. 20 overall prospect could see some starts at Triple-A by season's end, if not a late-season cameo for the big league squad.
