Yankees Activate Giancarlo Stanton From Injured List
4 months agoThe New York Yankees activated outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Monday and designated outfielder Jahmai Jones for assignment in a corresponding move. The Yankees haven't released their starting lineup for Monday's series opener in Philadelphia against the Phillies, but Stanton is likely to be back in there as the DH. Now that Stanton is back, Aaron Judge should return to outfield duties, and after the Yankees acquired Jazz Chisholm Jr. in a trade over the weekend, the biggest loser in terms of playing time will most likely be Alex Verdugo. The 34-year-old Stanton could be eased back in initially, and his elite power from the right side of the plate plays in all fantasy leagues. Stanton will return to a .246/.302/.492 slash line with 18 homers, 45 RBI and 34 runs scored this year in 260 at-bats.
