Astros Set To Promote Trey Dombroski To Double-A
4 months agoThe Houston Astros are planning to promote pitching prospect Trey Dombroski to Double-A Corpus Christi. The left-hander has had a dominant July for High-A Asheville with a 0.92 ERA in four starts to go along with 21 strikeouts. Dombrowski's recent success is a big reason for the promotion, as he got off to a rough start this season and overall is 5-8 with a 5.70 ERA across 18 games (13 starts). The No. 20 prospect in the Astros system per MLB Pipeline, Dombrowski relies more on finesse than velocity. The Astros have developed a number of similar pitchers in the past and next on the list could be the lefty. For now, he is a name for dynasty managers to add to the watch-list.
