Parker Meadows Starting Rehab Assignment On Sunday
4 months agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (hamstring) is starting his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Meadows will serve as the Mud Hens' designated hitter on Sunday and will then move to center field early next week. The 24-year-old went on the 10-day injured list back on July 8 with a strained right hamstring but could return to the Tigers late next week and play regularly against right-handed pitching. The former second-rounder in 2018 is worth considering as a waiver-wire pickup in deep-mixed leagues when he's on the cusp of a return for his power/speed profile. So far in 72 games in the big leagues since debuting in 2023, Meadows has struggled at the plate, slashing .191/.298/.335 with six home runs, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored in 242 plate appearances for the Tigers.
