Two-Start Pitcher Streamers: Fantasy Baseball SP Pickups and Starts - Week 19 (2024)

Welcome RotoBallers to our Two-Start Pitcher Streamers article - Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts for Week 19, from July 29 to August 4. With multiple teams having six or seven games on their schedule, we're looking at a nice variety of two-start pitchers.

Each week of this fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers expected to make two starts in the upcoming week. It can be considered as fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

There are 30 pitchers currently scheduled to make two starts during this period. We will be looking at pitchers who are less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues. Listed will be those who are rostered over 50%, those who are best available under 50%, and risky options under 50%. There are a few other two-start pitchers available, but they should be avoided.

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

Alec Marsh (12% Rostered), Kansas City Royals

Scheduled Starts: @ CHW, @ DET

This season hasn't been all too pleasant for Alec Marsh, as the 26-year-old now sports a 4.75 ERA, 4.22 FIP, 1.24 WHIP, 22.3% strikeout rate, and 7.7% walk rate. However, there's enough fantasy value, by way of strikeouts, to take Marsh against a league-worst Chicago White Sox offense and a mediocre Detroit offense.

Andre Pallante (9% Rostered), St. Louis Cardinals

Scheduled Starts: vs. TEX, @ CHC

Entering into the rotation from a relief role out of necessity, Andre Pallante has had a relatively impressive season. Since entering the rotation, Pallante holds a 3.42 ERA, 3.78 FIP, 1.20 WHIP, 19.8% strikeout rate, and 8.3% walk rate. There is apparent weakness outside of his run-prevention skills, but he should perform well enough against Texas and Chicago offenses that rank 19th and 27th, respectively, in runs scored since June 1.

Risky Two-Start Streamer Picks

Colin Rea (38% Rostered), Milwaukee Brewers

Scheduled Starts: vs. ATL, @ WAS

While Colin Rea's 3.60 ERA looks like enough to automatically stream him against two seemingly weaker offenses, his 4.84 xERA, 4.31 FIP, 18.2% strikeout rate, and 8.2% walk rate may make things difficult against a Washington squad that ranks 15th in runs scored since June 1.

Lance Lynn (23% Rostered), St. Louis Cardinals

Scheduled Starts: vs. TEX, @ CHC

With his 4.17 ERA/4.90 xERA, you wouldn't want Lance Lynn against most offenses. It gets interesting this week as he'll get Texas and Chicago offenses that rank 19th and 27th, respectively, in runs scored since June 1.

Considering the similarity in profile to Alec Marsh, Lynn's 21% strikeout rate could be enough to stream him this week. However, there is a stark gap in offensive talent between the Cubbies and White Sox and the Rangers and Tigers, meaning Lance Lynn falls on this side of the fence this week.

Mitchell Parker (21% Rostered), Washington Nationals

Scheduled Starts: @ ARZ, vs. MIL

Mitchell Parker was amid a nice rookie year, but it has fallen apart in his last two starts as he has allowed 11 combined runs over 3 2/3 innings against the Brewers and Padres. He's had enough success this season to trust that he rebounds against a weaker offense, but an Arizona offense ranked third in scoring this season and a top-10 scoring Brewers offense on a rematch are too good to challenge.

Simeon Woods Richardson (18% Rostered), Minnesota Twins

Scheduled Starts: @ NYM, vs. CHW

Simeon Woods Richardson has looked nice this year, with a 3.27 ERA, 3.55 FIP, 1.11 WHIP, 21.1% strikeout rate, and 6.9% walk rate. However, with a white-hot Mets offense up next (league leaders in runs scored since June 1), you may want to avoid the 23-year-old this week.

Yariel Rodriguez (18% Rostered), Toronto Blue Jays

Scheduled Starts: @ BAL, @ NYY

Yariel Rodriguez (3.60 ERA, 25.1% strikeout rate) should've had a shot at streaming this week, but he doesn't have a shot against two division rivals that rank in the top four in runs scored this season.

Frankie Montas (14% Rostered), Cincinnati Reds

Scheduled Starts: vs. CHC, vs. SF

With a 5.01 ERA, 19% strikeout rate, and 10% walk rate, Frankie Montas should not be in consideration against a San Francisco offense ranked 12th in runs scored since June 1.
