Pete Alonso Hits 20th Homer
4 months agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a walk and two-run homer in Wednesday's victory against the rival New York Yankees. Alonso crushed a two-run homer off Gerrit Cole in the top of the fourth inning to give the Mets a 3-2 lead at the time and it was all Mets from there. Alonso hasn't put up the big power numbers from his 2023 campaign but he is still having a solid season with a .240 batting average to go along with 20 homers and 53 RBI. The upcoming free-agent has stated he wants to stay with the Mets and is likely to remain on the roster past the deadline with the Mets five games over .500. No matter the uniform, Alonso is one of the best first baseman in the game.
