5 months agoIn Sunday's Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Stewart-Haas Racing driver Josh Berry finished 35th after wrecking at the beginning of the third stage. Berry was set for a difficult day, starting from the 37th position after a horrible qualifying run. In the first stage, the No. 4 driver made progress through the field as one of the biggest movers and made it to 26th by the end of the stage. In the second stage, Berry made one pit stop and moved further up the field, making it to the 19th position before the stage ended. After pitting during the stage break as stage two ended, Berry restarted deep in the field to begin stage three. On lap 106, Martin Truex Jr. made contact with Kyle Larson and smacked the wall. As Berry was trying to avoid Truex and other cars stacking up, Ty Gibbs made contact with him, and the No. 4 car smacked the wall, ending Berry's day for the fifth time this season. Berry's Cup series finish caps off a disappointing weekend for the Cup rookie as he crashed out in both the Cup and Xfinity races this weekend. As the Cup Series will eventually return to Richmond next, Berry is one to watch with two finishes of 11th or better in two starts at the site, including earlier this year, where he led two laps and a Driver Rating of 102.3.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
