Phillies Re-Sign David Dahl
4 months agoThe Philadelphia Phillies re-signed outfielder David Dahl to a minor-league deal on Monday, and he will report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley this week. The Phillies had been seeking some extra outfield depth. The 30-year-old veteran left-handed hitter hit the open market after electing free agency earlier this month when the Phillies took him off the 40-man roster. The former 10th overall pick by the Colorado Rockies in 2012, Dahl played in 19 games earlier this season with the Phillies and went 12-for-58 (.207) with three home runs and eight RBI in 62 plate appearances. In 43 games at Lehigh Valley, he was slashing .340/.416/.660 with a 1.076 OPS, 12 home runs and 26 RBI. At best, Dahl could return to the big leagues and serve as outfield depth for the first-place Phils at some point down the stretch in 2024.
