Giancarlo Stanton Runs The Bases On Friday
4 months agoNew York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) was seen running the bases on Friday before the series opener against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays in the Bronx. Stanton wasn't running full speed around the bases, but it's a notable step in his recovery from a strained left hamstring that he suffered almost a month ago. There is no timetable for the 34-year-old right-handed slugger's return, and he's likely to need at least a short rehab assignment in the minor leagues before rejoining the Yankees' lineup. When Stanton is able to return (likely not until August), Aaron Judge will move back to regular duties in center field, pushing Trent Grisham back to the bench as the fourth outfielder. Stanton should remain stashed in all fantasy leagues as a top-tier power option. He currently has 18 long balls and 45 RBI in 260 at-bats in 2024 while hitting .246 (64-for-260).
