4 months agoIn the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft with the 40th overall pick, the Oakland Athletics selected third baseman Tommy White out of LSU. White, 21, was rated the No. 20 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and it looks like the Athletics may have snagged themselves a steal with White. The third baseman put together some crazy power campaigns for the Tigers with his ability to barrel the ball and ranks eighth all-time in Division 1 with 75 career home runs. White is aggressive at the plate but rarely misses an opportunity to make contact. Although his power is off the charts, a big reason he may have slipped is due to his poor defense. The LSU Tiger may struggle to find a position, but if he hits like he did in college, the A's will find a way to get him in the lineup.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
