Luis Gil Strikes Out Seven In Win
4 months agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil went six innings in Saturday's 6-1 victory over the Orioles, allowing one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven on his way to earning his 10th win of the season. Gil has now pitched back-to-back quality starts after hitting a three-game rough patch, including one outing against these same Orioles in which the righty allowed seven earned runs and was chased after just after an inning-and-a-third. The 26-year-old is having a strong season overall, going 10-5 with a 3.17 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 16.5% K-BB%. His next start could come against the Rays after the All-Star break.
