4 months agoMinnesota Twins infielder Jose Miranda (back) will be placed on the injured list. The Twins are expected to call up Diego Castillo from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Miranda was scratched from Friday's lineup due to lower-back stiffness and was rested again on Saturday. The 26-year-old will get a few extra days of rest with the All-Star break coming up and will have extended time for his back to heal. Miranda had a terrific first half for the Twins, slashing .325/.366/.522 with nine home runs, 43 RBI, 35 runs, and two stolen bases over 276 plate appearances. Castillo slashed .269/.375/.399 with five homers and seven stolen bases across 283 games with St. Paul. The 26-year-old should have a clear path to everyday at-bats and is a speculative add in most fantasy leagues.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
