Bryson Stott Resting Against A Southpaw
5 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott will get the day off on Friday against the visiting Oakland Athletics with left-hander Hogan Harris on the bump. Utility infielder Edmundo Sosa will make the start at second base and will bat sixth for the Phillies against Harris. Stott has hit .244 against both lefties and righties in 2024, but five of his six home runs on the year have come against righties. The 26-year-old second baseman has been a key piece of Philadelphia's stacked lineup this year, mostly for his speed. He's hitting .244 (72-for-295) with six homers, 41 RBI, 21 stolen bases and 44 runs scored. Sosa, while lacking a lot of power at the plate from the right side, could be worth a look as a DFS sleeper in Friday's matchup. He's gone 22-for-69 (.319) with two of his five homers against southpaws in 2024.
