DJ LeMahieu Returns To Yankees Lineup
5 months agoNew York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (neck, pinkie) is back at third base and is batting leadoff for the Bronx Bombers for Friday's series opener against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards against rookie left-hander Cade Povich. LeMahieu suffered injuries to both his neck and pinkie finger in Wednesday's contest against the Tampa Bay Rays and was held out on Thursday as a precaution. The 35-year-old veteran is back in there a day later, though, after a CT scan of his neck came back clean. He got a late start to the 2024 due to injury and is batting just .202 (22-for-109) and has yet to hit a home run, but he's been a bit better in July with a .250/.333/.292 slash line, a double and two RBI. LeMahieu isn't any kind of exciting sleeper option for DFS lineups, but in the leadoff spot he could do some damage.
