Baltimore Orioles second base prospect Connor Norby went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk on Thursday. This extended his current hitting streak to four games. Since July 1, the former second-round pick has posted a dominant .350/.386/.750 line with five home runs and 12 RBI. Norby got a brief four-game taste of the major leagues this season and tallied three hits and one home run across four games. Through 74 games at Triple-A Norfolk this season, Norby has posted a .294/.380/.532 line, which proves he is more than ready for a full-time major league role, but the Baltimore infield is quite crowded, which limits Norby's playing time. However, if a player in the majors were to get into a prolonged slump or get injured, Norby's name could be the first one called upon to fill in.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

The Miami Marlins announced on Thursday that they reinstated infield prospect Connor Norby (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Graham Pauley to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Norby is making the start at third base and is batting second in his 2025 debut against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks and left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. The 24-year-old suffered a left-oblique strain at the end of spring training, which kept him out for the first couple weeks of the regular season. But now that he's healthy, Norby will settle in as Miami's starting third baseman, and he could be valuable in mixed fantasy leagues for his power. He went 4-for-8 with a home run in three rehab games with Jacksonville. The former second-rounder made his big-league debut last year with the Orioles and Marlins ad hit nine home runs in only 45 games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins third base prospect Connor Norby (oblique) will start a minor-league rehab assignment on Saturday, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. It's unclear where Norby will be playing or how long he might be on his rehab assignment, but it's notable progress for a player that hasn't seen game action since suffering a left-oblique strain in late March during spring training. When the 24-year-old is cleared on his rehab assignment, he's expected to be called up to the big leagues to serve as Miami's starting third baseman. The former second-rounder of the Baltimore Orioles in 2021 out of East Carolina hit .247/.315/.445 with seven homers and 17 RBI in 36 games for the Fish last year after being acquired in a trade with Baltimore. Strikeouts could be an issue, but Norby showed enough power/speed in the minors to be worth looking at in mixed fantasy leagues when he returns to the majors.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins third base prospect Connor Norby (oblique) is progressing in his baseball activities as he recovers from a left-oblique strain, according to Fish On First's Kevin Barral. Norby is progressing, but it's unclear exactly what he's doing, and he will probably remain on the injured list through at least mid-April. When the 24-year-old former second-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 2021 out of East Carolina University is finally ready to make his 2025 debut, he's expected to join the big-league roster and see plenty of playing time at the hot corner in Miami. In 36 games for the Marlins after they acquired him from the O's last year, Norby went 36-for-146 (.247) with seven home runs, 17 RBI and three steals. He was inconsistent, but the power/speed combination is clearly evident after he hit 26 homers and stole 16 bases in the majors and minors in 2024. Norby can provide plenty of power and speed but won't help your batting average.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins third baseman Connor Norby (oblique) was diagnosed with a Grade 1 left-oblique strain, according to manager Clayton McCullough, and will miss about four weeks. Norby hit a triple on Saturday and hurt himself on the swing, although an awkward slide into third base could have made the issue worse. Last season, Norby hit .236 with nine home runs and a .316 wOBA after arriving in Miami from the Orioles via trade. The 24-year-old was one of the Marlins' most promising bats coming into the year, but now the start of his season will be delayed until at least late April. Jonah Bride and Eric Wagaman could each get playing time at 3B while Norby recovers, and calling up prospect Graham Pauley could also be a solution after he was optioned last week.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller
