Trey McBride, George Kittle, Kyle Pitts - 2024 Fantasy Football Tight End Outlooks

Finding the right tight end can give you the edge you’re looking for in your fantasy football league. This year, though, it feels like there is a smorgasbord of tight ends to choose from compared to previous years.

Some of the players available at the tight-end position are Trey McBride, Kyle Pitts, and George Kittle. Each are talented players and provide gamers with plenty of upside. All three are fine options for your fantasy football team, and you should feel comfortable selecting them all.

Trey McBride Fantasy Football Outlook

After a disappointing rookie season, McBride enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign.

McBride’s per-route data was quite strong. Per Fantasy Points Data Suite, his 27% targets per route run (TPRR) and 2.15 yards per route run (YPRR) were both better than this year’s consensus TE1, Sam LaPorta. McBride faces tough target competition this year with the arrival of Marvin Harrison Jr., but there is enough space in this offense for both he and McBride to flourish. His connection with quarterback Kyler Murray remains strong, and the coaching staff has made it clear it has big plans for him. Expect McBride to finish among the top tight ends in 2024.

Kyle Pitts Fantasy Football Outlook

After posting 1,026 receiving yards and finishing as the PPR TE6 as a rookie in 2021, the last two years for Pitts have been massive disappointments. He remains one of the most talented players at the tight-end position, but the reality is that he’s failed to meet the lofty expectations placed on him by eager drafters. With Kirk Cousins taking over as Atlanta’s quarterback, Pitts is lined up for a career season.

Don’t be scared of Pitts based on his past. He’s now in the best situation of his career and has a massive quarterback upgrade. Expect him to finally rebound and be a key component in the Falcons offense.

George Kittle Fantasy Football Outlook

Kittle is coming off his third career 1,000-yard campaign in 2023. He posted a 65-1,020-6 line over 16 games and finished as the TE5 in half and full-PPR leagues.

While it was another strong season for Kittle, he still had to contend for targets with receivers Deebo Samuel Sr. and Brandon Aiyuk. That problem remains in place for the 2024 season. Kittle is still able to produce for fantasy purposes despite this issue, but his upside is capped. As long as Aiyuk and Samuel are in the fold, it’s going to be very difficult for Kittle to beat last year's TE5 finish. Still, he’s one of the very best in the game and is a great fallback option if you miss out on tight end early in your draft.
