Daulton Varsho Out Versus Giants
Daulton Varsho (knee) will take a seat for Thursday's series finale against the Giants in San Francisco. Varsho injured his left knee while sliding into first base in Wednesday's win, but he's dealing with a contusion and should be considered day-to-day. There's a chance he'll be right back in the lineup on Friday for the series finale in Arizona against his former team, the Diamondbacks. Kevin Kiermaier is starting in center field and batting eighth on Thursday, while Davis Schneider is in left field and is hitting seventh against Giants right-hander Jordan Hicks. Rookie Spencer Horwitz is at the keystone and manning the two-hole in the batting order. In his second year in Toronto, Varsho is hitting under .200 but has added 11 homers, 37 RBI and nine stolen bases in 85 games played as a regular in the outfield.

Daulton Varsho Homers Twice, Drives In Four On Tuesday
Daulton Varsho had a big night in his team's 11-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Varsho went 2-for-5 with two homers and four RBI, but it wasn't quite enough to down the Rays in the high-scoring loss. The veteran outfielder has been productive in limited time this season, hitting just .222 with five homers, six runs, 11 RBI, and one steal across 36 at-bats after missing the majority of April following offseason shoulder surgery. He is worth a look in deep fantasy leagues as a reserve moving forward.

Daulton Varsho Smacks His Third Home Run Of The Season
Daulton Varsho enjoyed a nice evening on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run scored, and one home run. The home run was a solo shot in the eighth inning, which extended the Blue Jays' lead to 8-5, as they ended up holding on to avoid the three-game sweep against the Los Angeles Angels. The home run was Varscho's third of the season, as he raised his slashing line to .273/.346/.727. Varsho was activated off the injured list on April 29, and over the past seven games since being activated, he has been hitting for power and providing the Blue Jays with the offensive spark they need. Look for Varsho to keep it going as the Blue Jays travel to Seattle for a three-game series against the Mariners that starts on Friday.

Daulton Varsho Returns Against Angels
Daulton Varsho (back) is back in center field and is hitting sixth in the batting order for Tuesday's contest on the road in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels and left-hander Tyler Anderson. Varsho will return to action after missing the last two games due to back tightness that caused him to be scratched from Sunday's game. The 28-year-old will be playing in only his sixth game of the year after having offseason shoulder surgery and started the regular season on the injured list. He has so far gone 3-for-14 with two home runs, three RBI, a steal and three runs scored in his first 17 plate appearances. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues will want to get him back into their starting lineups. In 12 career at-bats against Anderson, Varsho is hitting .583 with a 1.698 OPS, one home run and five RBI.

Blue Jays Hope Daulton Varsho Will Be Ready On Tuesday
Daulton Varsho (back) potentially could have pushed through his lower-back tightness to play in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Guardians, but the team didn't want to risk it so soon after he returned from offseason shoulder surgery. The Blue Jays are hoping that Varsho will return for Tuesday's series opener versus the Los Angeles Angels. The 28-year-old made his return from the injured list due to his surgically repaired shoulder last week and has only played in five games, so the Blue Jays weren't going to push him. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Tuesday to see if he's back in there. Varsho has three hits in his first 17 plate appearances, but it's a good sign that two of those hits went for home runs. When healthy, he's Toronto's everyday center fielder.
