Rhys Hoskins, Jackson Chourio Out On Thursday
5 months agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins and rookie outfielder Jackson Chourio will both start on the bench on Thursday in the series finale against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. Jake Bauers is starting at first base and batting sixth, while Blake Perkins will make his fifth straight start in center field and hit in the nine-hole against Pirates rookie right-hander Paul Skenes. Hoskins, 31, went 4-for-25 with three home runs and six RBI while starting each of the last seven games, so he'll just be getting a normal day of rest in the difficult matchup. The 20-year-old Chourio started each of the previous six games and has been on a heater offensively since June 23, going 18-for-53 (.340) with two homers, five doubles, nine RBI, five walks, two steals and 12 runs scored. After a slow start in his first MLB season, Chourio is now up to nine long balls, 35 RBI, 10 steals and 39 runs scored.
